 Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What type of Batteries are used and what is the approximate Battery Life of the MicroVibe unit?
A: The MicroVibe unit uses a total of 3 AAA Alkaline batteries and has an approximate battery life of 15 hours (dependent on use method).

Q: Why are the batteries in my MicroVibe not lasting as long as designed?
A: When not in use, the sensor should be disconnected from the MicroVibe unit, otherwise the unit will continue to power the sensor and drain the batteries.

Q: What measurements types is the MicroVibe capable of making?
A : When using the included Accelerometer the MicroVibe is capable of measuring A- Acceleration, V- Velocity, D- Displacement, B- High Pass Filter (7kHz to 20kHz), H- Envelope Detection (2kHz to 15kHz), and E- Envelope Detection (user defined HPF and LPF).

Q:  What types of sensors can be used with the MicroVibe?
A: The MicroVibe can be used with a custom-designed, 20mV/g Accelerometer.

Q:  What are the different types of measurements is the MicroVibe capable of making?
A:  The MicroVibe is capable of making Overall (individual or simultaneous), FFT, or Time Waveform measurements.

Q:   What is the difference between Individual and Simultaneous Overall measurements?
A:  Individual Overall allows you to select only one measurement type to display and Simultaneous Overall allows you to simultaneously measure and display 5 different measurement types (A- Acceleration, V- Velocity, D- Displacement, B- High Pass Filter, and H- Envelope Detection).

Q:  What is the Storage Capacity of the MicroVibe unit?
A:  Overall Vibration = 1000 Points, Time Waveform = 2000kB, FFT = 200 Points.

Q:  What type of FFT resolution is the MicroVibe capable of?
A:  The MicroVibe is capable of 400, 800 or 1600 Line FFT resolution.

Q:  What is the length of Time Waveform data the MicroVibe can collect?
A:   The MicroVibe is capable of measuring 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, and 5 seconds worth of data.

Q:  How long is the MicroVibe Warranty?
A:   SKF warranties MicroVibe for a period of 1 year from the date it ships to the customer to be free from product and material defects.  The warranty is not valid for units that have been damage or abused.

Q:   How do I activate my MicroVibe Warranty?
